The Friends of the Library work to increase community awareness and use of library resources. Throughout the year the Friends hold fund raising events to support Library programs and to purchase items that are not covered in the regular library budget.

Any resident is welcome to join the group which meets on
the first Tuesday of the month at 6:45pm in the Library.

The Friends of the Library have also assumed the task of organizing, categorizing, and preserving the Cheryl Hopper Todd History Room. This contains the library's collection of maps, documents, and photographs connected to the history of the Township. Donations of old photographs or items related to the history of the Township of Washington are always appreciated. (If you have memories of earlier times in the Township, members of our group would love to talk with you about your recollections.)

The pictures, maps, and other memorabilia contained in the Cheryl Hopper Todd History Room are available to all patrons by appointment.

Funding for this project was made possible, in part, through grant funds administered by the Bergen County Department of Parks, Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, and through a General Operating Support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission. We would like to thank the Bergen County Department of Parks, Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, for making it possible!
